Musa velutina, also known as the pink velvet banana, is a small wild banana native to Assam, India. It stands out for its 1.5–2 m tall pseudostem, upright bright pink inflorescences and fruits, and sweet fruit that contains many hard seeds. It is widely grown as an ornamental to create a tropical garden atmosphere, and its flowers are especially attractive from summer through fall.
