Musa coccinea, also known as the scarlet banana, is a small ornamental banana with a 1–2 m tall pseudostem and dense clumping growth. It has bright green leaves with winged petioles. The upright, egg-shaped inflorescence features vivid red bracts enclosing orange-yellow flowers. It is popular as an ornamental and as a cut flower, native to Southeast Asia, and valued for its distinctive, showy blooms.
