Musa (ABB Group) 'Kluai Dang Marble' is a collector's banana whose name refers to red tones combined with marble-like patterning on the leaves or pseudostem. It forms a clump from a rhizome, develops a pseudostem from leaf sheaths, and spreads large leaves above the crown. The proportion of patterning may vary between leaves, and color may change with age and light intensity, giving each plant a different character. It suits a tropical garden focal point. Grow it outdoors in high light and acclimate young plants gradually to sun. Pale areas on the leaves should be protected from intense sun immediately after transplanting. Prepare deep loamy soil with compost and fast drainage. Water according to actual moisture without allowing the rhizome to sit in water. Mulch around the base while leaving a clear gap to protect shallow roots and reduce weeds. Windy sites should have shelter to reduce torn leaves. Keep the clump open by limiting suckers and select attractive shoots as the next generation. If the plant produces a bunch, provide support and remove damaged parts with clean tools.
