Musa (AAB group) 'Kluai Chang'

Kluai Chang (Musa (AAB group) 'Kluai Chang'), sometimes called the “elephant tusk banana,” is an ancient cultivar known for its very large fruits. The flesh is yellow-orange with a sweet, fragrant flavor reminiscent of a blend between Cavendish-type and Lady Finger bananas. The texture is dense yet tender, and the fruit can be eaten ripe or processed (boiled, steamed, candied). It is also grown as a rare ornamental due to its impressive size, and it produces suckers that propagate well.
