About trees
Musa acuminata (AAA) is a key ancestral banana lineage that gave rise to many of the bananas we eat today. The AAA group indicates three copies of the "A" genome. Typical traits include sweet fruit with soft flesh, no seeds (or very few), and plants that are not overly tall (often dwarf types), with large deep-green leaves and a dense pseudostem. Many dessert bananas fall into this group, including Cavendish types and Hom Thong. It is economically important and is also referenced in traditional folk medicine.
