About trees
Monstera 'Legacy' belongs to the Araceae family and is a climbing vine that uses aerial roots to attach to surfaces, with leaves that enlarge or develop fenestrations when given suitable age and conditions. Its selected-cultivar name distinguishes its horticultural character from the base species, while its mature color and form still depend on growing conditions. Young plants may not yet show their mature form, so assess them by observing continued growth rather than only their initial appearance. Leaf color, thickness, and size may change with the plant's age, light levels, and root health.
Suitable conditions include bright indirect light, a coarse airy growing medium, and a support for the stem to climb. Check the medium before every watering and avoid moving the plant abruptly from shade into intense sun. It is suitable for creating vertical structure and a tropical-forest atmosphere through its distinctive foliage. Regularly checking moisture and shoot development helps determine the timing of watering, pruning, or feeding more accurately than following a fixed schedule.
