About trees
In terms of form, Monosolenium tenerum is a liverwort that forms branching thalli into soft green cushions; it belongs to the Aytoniaceae family. Its leaves, stems, and growth rhythm are the key features that make the plant recognizable. Arranging it so that new growth and the front of the thallus are visible allows changes to be appreciated fully. Its submerged form may differ from its emersed form, and growth adjustment after planting in an aquarium is a normal process for many aquatic plants.
Successful cultivation depends on placing or attaching the clump securely in an area without strong current, keeping the water clean, and removing sediment from the clump. Keep water quality stable, remove fallen material, and avoid changing several lighting or water parameters at once. It works well for creating a soft mass on the substrate or hardscape in the foreground. Acclimate it step by step, observing new growth and attachment before increasing water, light, or fertilizer so it can respond without sudden stress. Recording growth timing and the plant's response after adjustments helps maintain a consistent, high-quality clump across seasons.
