Micranthemum callitrichoides 'Cuba' gets its character from being a small stem aquatic plant that branches densely and forms fine foliage; it belongs to the Linderniaceae family. Its tiny leaves and short internodes can knit together into a delicate carpet when light reaches the substrate. Young plants may not yet show their mature form, so assess them by observing continued growth rather than only their initial appearance. Its submerged form may differ from its emersed form, and leaf replacement after planting in an aquarium is a normal adjustment process for many aquatic plants.
Suitable conditions include light reaching the entire clump, frequent trimming, and consistent nutrients and carbon dioxide. Keep water quality stable, remove fallen leaves, and avoid changing several lighting or water parameters at once. It works well for creating fine clumps or a raised carpet in the foreground and midground. If the plant must be moved or its conditions changed, do so gradually and wait for new growth before assessing its final color and form.
