Ludwigia sp. 'Dark Orange' is a stem aquatic plant whose leaf form and color respond to light and growing conditions; it belongs to the Onagraceae family. Its dark foliage makes the veins and surface texture stand out when viewed up close. Under suitable conditions, submerged leaves range from yellow-orange to deep orange with pale veins. As the clump gradually establishes, the details of the leaves and internodes become clearer, so leave enough room for the plant to develop its natural form. Its submerged form may differ from its emersed form, and leaf replacement after planting in an aquarium is a normal adjustment process for many aquatic plants.
Begin care with consistent light, complete nutrients, and carbon dioxide according to the plant's needs, trimming and replanting the tips to build a dense clump. Keep water quality stable, remove fallen leaves, and avoid changing several lighting or water parameters at once. It works well as a color group in the midground or background, with enough space for light to reach the lower leaves.
