The appeal of Lagenandra meeboldii 'Red Round' comes from its rhizomatous aquatic growth and leaves arranged in a clump. Leaf shape and color vary according to the selection and growing conditions. A key feature is that pink, red, or copper tones are especially visible on the tips and young leaves before changing as the leaves mature. Arranging it so that new growth and the front of the leaves are visible allows these changes to be appreciated fully. Its submerged form may differ from its emersed form, and leaf replacement after planting in an aquarium is a normal adjustment process for many aquatic plants.
Begin care by planting the roots in a nutrient-rich substrate without covering the growing point. Provide moderate light and keep water parameters stable. Remove fallen leaves and avoid changing several lighting or water parameters at once. It works well as a solitary midground clump when broad leaves are needed to contrast with stem plants. Keeping the area around the base or clump clean and leaving room for air or water to move through will help new leaves unfurl fully and make the plant easier to maintain. Rotate the pot or adjust the direction of the shoots periodically so the plant receives light evenly without forcing growth.
