Anubias barteri 'Marble' gets its character from being an aquatic plant with a creeping rhizome and thick leaves that attach to rock or wood with roots; it belongs to the Araceae family. A key feature is the speckled pattern on the thick leaves, giving the small clump marble-like detail. Its submerged form may differ from its emersed form, and leaf replacement after planting in an aquarium is a normal adjustment process for many aquatic plants. Arranging it so that new growth and the front of the leaves are visible allows these changes to be appreciated fully.
Begin care by keeping the rhizome above the substrate rather than burying it. Provide moderate light and clean water circulation. Keep water quality stable, remove fallen leaves, and avoid changing several lighting or water parameters at once. It suits foreground and midground hardscape where a slow-growing clump is desired. If the plant must be moved or its conditions changed, do so gradually and wait for new growth before assessing its final color and form. When old leaves become damaged, cut them with clean tools and allow time to observe new growth before changing the care routine.
