About trees

Anubias barteri 'Golden' belongs to the Araceae family and is an aquatic plant with a creeping rhizome and thick leaves that attach to rock or wood with roots. A key feature is that yellow to light-green tones brighten the clump, with color intensity related to light and leaf age. The yellow-green leaves add a bright point to rock or wood without requiring a large clump. Arranging it so that new growth and the front of the leaves are visible allows these changes to be appreciated fully. Its submerged form may differ from its emersed form, and leaf replacement after planting in an aquarium is a normal adjustment process for many aquatic plants.

Suitable conditions include keeping the rhizome above the substrate rather than burying it, providing moderate light, and maintaining clean water circulation. Keep water quality stable, remove fallen leaves, and avoid changing several lighting or water parameters at once. It suits foreground and midground hardscape where a slow-growing clump is desired. If the plant must be moved or its conditions changed, do so gradually and wait for new growth before assessing its final color and form.
