Alocasia tandurusa 'Jacklyn' belongs to the Araceae family and is a rhizomatous or tuberous herbaceous plant with prominent leaves held on petioles and clearly visible veins. Its selected-cultivar name distinguishes its horticultural character from the base species, while its mature color and form still depend on growing conditions. Arranging it so that new growth and the front of the leaves are visible allows these changes to be appreciated fully. Leaf color, thickness, and size may change with the plant's age, light levels, and root health.
To develop a balanced canopy, provide fairly bright indirect light, warm temperatures, and consistent humidity without waterlogging. Check the growing medium before every watering and avoid moving the plant abruptly from shade into intense sun. It makes an attractive focal plant, adding dimension through its leaf shape and venation. If the plant must be moved or its conditions changed, do so gradually and wait for new growth before assessing its final color and form.
