Alocasia cuprea 'Red' is a rhizomatous or tuberous herbaceous plant with prominent leaves held on stalks and clearly visible veins, and it belongs to the Araceae family. Its overall appearance is enhanced by pink, red, or copper tones that are especially visible on the tips and young leaves before changing as the leaves mature. Differences between young and mature leaves are part of its appeal, and every leaf does not need to look the same. Leaf color, thickness, and size may change with the plant's age, light levels, and root health.
Begin care with fairly bright indirect light, warm temperatures, and consistent humidity without waterlogging. Check the growing medium before every watering and avoid moving the plant abruptly from shade into intense sun. It makes an attractive focal plant, adding dimension through its leaf shape and venation.
